The Founders

Michael Hall

From operating his design and construction company for 30 years to leading seminars across the globe to representing fellow artists, Michael W. Hall's 40 years of work as a visual artist have spanned careers and continents.

With his studies at Shaw University, Southern University, Tulane University, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte fueling his creative pursuits, Michael earned his BA in Urban Planning and his Master's Degree in Fine Arts and Public Administration. Over time, his commitment to his craft would continue to prove fruitful, as he became the first person of color to join the Carolinas Chapter of ASID, and win the Columbia University Crown Award.

A devoted advocate, Michael's work with the Poor People's Campaign in their fight for economic and political justice and involvement in animal rights initiatives have allowed him to demonstrate that his love and hope for humanity know no bounds.

Michael believes our diversity and compassion are our ultimate strengths in a world where climate change and divisive politics keep us fearful of the future. By providing opportunities for visual artists to showcase their work concentrated on the African diaspora, Michael hopes others will find the courage to celebrate their individuality as they marry their mediums and distinctive beliefs to uplift and heal our society through art.
